Abstract: The internationalizing of local government websites is an inevitable tendency in the process of globalization and informatization. However, there are still many problems in designing and translating the local government websites. Based on detailed analysis, this article has pointed out the defects of English version website. The designing and translating work of English version website must take into consideration of the functions of website as well as the browsing habit and cultural traditions of targeted visitors. It should have neat and simple style, clear structure, rich contents and accurate translation so that the visitors can view easily and get the information and service quickly
