Abstract: Legend fictions are representative works in the “Conscious Fictions” of the Tang Dynasty. The Tang Dynasty’s legends all stress entertainment function. The writers are mostly literati, who, in order to be recognized by their superiors for passing imperial examinations, show their literary talent and good style of writing, consciously write fictions, ignore the influence and restrictions of history biographies, strengthen the fictive features of fictions, and enrich the contents of fictions.
