Abstract: The May Fourth Movement is a milestone event in China’s modern and contemporary history, and it has gestated the great spirit of " patriotism, progress, democracy and science”. In the 100-year history of the May Fourth Movement, the spirit of the May Fourth Movement advances with the times and is endowed with rich age connotations. It has always been the value-leading and spiritual support of the vast majority of young people. In the new era, cultivating new people to realize national rejuvenation is inseparable from the inheritance of the May Fourth Spirit. It is necessary to clarify the logical rationale of the new development of the spirit of the May Fourth Movement, expound the important value of carrying forward the spirit of the May Fourth Movement in the new era, and explore the path of carrying forward the May Fourth Spirit in the new era from three dimensions, such as enriching the content of the May Fourth Spirit, innovating the " May Fourth” education method, and perfecting the " May Fourth” education mechanism.
