Abstract:
At present, the new changes in the expansion of power in the digital capital space have shrouded the platform space in a veil of technological feudalism. Based on the attention, data, and algorithm loop system, digital capital achieves its proliferation goal on the platform through the cycle of “attention input → data generation → algorithm optimization → more efficient attention capture → generation of more data”, and enhances the expansion effectiveness of the platform space. On this basis, the expansion of spatial power of digital capital has brought three consequences: at the subject level, data users are addicted to the illusion of freedom created by the platform in the fields of entertainment and political democracy, and suffer from hidden spatial power domination; At the social level, the spatial plunder of digital capital has reshaped the social structure and given rise to a new hierarchical structure of “cloud lords, cloud vassals, cloud proletarians, and cloud serfs”; At the national level, developed capitalist countries in the West have formed spatial hegemony over developing countries through alliances with technology giants, exacerbating global inequality.
