Abstract: In this paper, we firstly use scientometrics indicators to analyze the publications of 20 scientists who have achieved the National Outstanding Youth Fund in Information Science field during the past five years. Secondly, we find the impact factors to quantify an individual’s scientific research achievements based on different bolometric indicators, such as total number of publications and citations, H-index, G-index, R-index, Hc-index, etc. Then, we study the correlativity of H-index and other indicators. The results show that H-index and its improved indicators are comprehensive characterization of the quantity and impact of publications of the applicants for the National Outstanding Youth Science Fund.
