Abstract: Comparing and analyzing LIANG Shi-qiu’s series essays of Ya She and Chinese version of the “Complete Works of Shakespeare” from the viewpoint of “cultural wisdom”, the author tries to probe into the consistency in two points: traditional concept and modern consciousness; national culture and foreign culture. Such cultural wisdom is connected with the thoughts of the Confucian school and Babbitt’s New Humanism. LIANG Shi-qiu initiates “harmony in difference”, which also caters to the present cultural tendency.
