Abstract:
Standardized testing is the core procedure of China’s National Matriculation Test. The high degree of centralization and aggregation ensures a fair, open, and right test. In recent years, the new curriculum reform advocates Quality Education for creative talents. How much can the standardized test help to achieve the goal and how well it can reveal the different levels of integrated English competence will directly influence its validity and reliability, as well as the public trust in NMET. Through studying the features and advantages of NMET, the researcher finds some problems in its standardization. In the end process assessment and achievement testing are suggested as the main components of NMET.
