Abstract:
As is known to all that Three Kingdoms is one of the four best classical novels in China and that hundreds of characters have been described vividly in this book, thus most people in the book leave a deep impression on our minds. There is no doubt that different techniques and methods will be applied during the translation from Chinese to English, in particular the translation of names. Based on the translated version of Robert Moss, this paper intends to probe the translation of names in Three Kingdoms from the perspective of alienation and adaptation.
