Study on Second Pair Part of——Criticism Actions in Chinese Conversation

Results show that the turn construction ways and stances of criticism rank differently by different criticized objects. The second assessments of self-criticism tend to be disagreement which is ranked as strong disagreement, weak disagreement, and weak agreement, whereas the one of other-party criticism tend to be agreement which is ranked as strong agreement, weak agreement, and weak disagreement.This paper investigates the second pair part of assessment actions in authentic Chinese utterance. Based on the conversation analysis, this paper describes the fundamental syntax formations of the turn of the second pair part and the stances and tries to reveal the close relationship of the interaction and grammar.
