Official Discourses and People Voice: The Anthropological Perspectives of Slogans of Wenchuan Earthquake

China is a country of slogans. The culture and study of slogans in China is well developed. However, the slogan concerning disasters is a brand new area. This research is based on more than 200 slogans collected from Wenchuan after the terrible earthquake. This paper summarizes the narrative character of the disaster slogans and analyzes the social change behind. These slogans provide a perspective to view the main point that the government would like to show to the public, that is the changes during the restoration of the disaster area and the needs and difficulties for the local people.
