Connotation, Factor and Policy Thinking of Feminisation of Poverty

While the female labor market participation rate has been improved, it does not slow down the impoverishment of women; instead, it compels the women to bear the dual responsibility of labor market and housework. Based on the family responsibility, gender discrimination and occupational segregation of labor market, and the economic dependence on men, this paper analyzes causes of the feminization of poverty. At the same time, according to intrinsic mechanism of women's poverty, it also discusses the operation mechanism of the poor women and social mutual construction, in order to build proper social security system and alleviate women impoverishment. In conclusion, it will propel the relations of poor women and society, thus promoting harmonious development of the society as a whole.
