Practices of Undergraduate Research in American Research Universities——A Case Study on Rutgers University

Undergraduate research is an important approach for the reconstruction of undergraduate education at research universities in the United States. After being undertaken for decades, undergraduate research has already become an important education activity in almost all American research universities, and its supporting measures have been continuously enriched and improved. By taking Rutgers University as an example, this paper introduces its organization, various level research programs and facilities for undergraduate research, which has been developed and improved in the last ten years. Based on the analysis on the undergraduate research in Rutgers University, some suggestions are given for Chinese research universities.
