Research on Enhancing the Quality of Public Housing Construction in China—Based on the Planning Layout, the Functional Design, and Service Ability

Public housing is housing for public benefits and welfare, which is an important basis for maintaining social stability and guaranteeing the people’s livelihood and services. In the new period of urbanization, the public housing research focuses on how to build high-quality housing and utilize them instead of "building or not" and the quantities. Based on a detailed analysis of twice evaluations, which are provided by applicants and users before and after living in these houses, problems in the building process are listed, and the public's demands for housing are summarized. Based on the planning layout, the functional design, and service ability, the measures to improve the quality of public housing construction in China are proposed so as to achieve the goal of human-centered new towns.
