Background, Contents and Challenges of the Electronic World Trade Platform

In recent years, the development of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) has become a big concern of countries over the world. " Internet+” and big data not only provide opportunities for SMEs to grow, but also bring about challenges. The Electronic World Trade Platform (eWTP) is proposed under the current situation to solve the development problems of SMEs. This paper first explains the background of the concept of eWTP, then analyzes the relationship between eWTP and platform economy, shared economy, cross-border e-commerce and e-commerce. Also it interprets the main content of eWTP, and finally discusses the challenges faced by eWTP in the current context.
