Abstract
Purpose/Significance The distribution industry is a bridge and link between production and consumption. Developing the distribution industry is an important way to expand domestic demand, increase employment and improve the quality and efficiency of the regional economy. Establishing a scientific evaluation system and model, and objectively evaluating the current status and shortcomings of the competitiveness of regional distribution industries, can provide ideas for enhancing regional competitiveness and creating competitive advantages. Design/Methodology By constructing a theoretical model of regional distribution industry competitiveness and proposing relevant hypotheses, and using a structural equation model to verify it with questionnaire survey data, and based on empirical research results, the paper builds a theoretical evaluation model of regional distribution industry competitiveness and an evaluation model of actual competitivenes. Findings/Conclusions The research shows that demand conditions have the greatest impact on the competitiveness of regional distribution industries, followed by production factors, and other factors have an indirect impact on competitiveness through demand conditions. By comparing the theoretical competitiveness evaluation scores and actual competitiveness evaluation scores of regional distribution industries, it helps to clarify the current status and shortcomings of regional distribution industry competitiveness, and provides a basis for governments at all levels to formulate distribution policies.
