Purpose/SignificanceThe new type of urbanization is an important means for promoting the transformation and upgrading of industrial structure and improving the comprehensive development level of the country in the new era.
Design/MethodologyThe panel data of China's provinces and cities from 2007 to 2016 were used to empirically analyze the impact of China's logistics industry agglomeration on new-type urbanization, and analyze its space spillover effects in depth.
Findings/ConclusionThere is a significant positive correlation effect in China's new urbanization, which presents the characteristics of “ high-high” and “low-low” spatial clusters. The accumulation of logistics industry has a significant positive effect on the new urbanization of the region, while it has an insignificant negative spatial spillover effect on the new urbanization of surrounding provinces and cities. Controlling variable economic growth can promote the development of new-type urbanization in the region, but it has a negative spatial spillover effect on new urbanization in the surrounding areas. For this reason, in the development of new-type urbanization, it is necessary to fully consider the spatial correlation between regions, promote the coordinated development of large, medium and small cities, and improve the quality of new-type urbanization through the improvement of the concentration level of logistics industry.
