Analysis of Influence Factors on Improving the Academic Level for Postgraduates Under the “Double First-class” Construction

  • Purpose/SignificanceCultivating top-notch personnel and innovative talents is an important task and evaluation index in the “Double First-class” Construction, while doctoral students are the highest level of talent cultivation in universities. The number of doctoral high-level papers published is an important indicator to measure the quality of doctoral training. Management is one of the 13 categories of postgraduate training, and it is of great significance to study the influencing factors of high-level publications of management doctoral students.
    Design/MethodologyThis paper focuses on the PhDs who obtained the management degrees in "the world-level A-class construction" university D from 2009 to 2019, and uses structural equation model to study the influence factors on high level publications of management doctoral students.
    Findings/ConclusionThe results show that the supervisors' scientific research ability, learning style and overseas education have a positive impact on the management doctoral students' publishing of high-level papers. Enrollment age and the social service ability of supervisors have a negative impact on the publication of high-level papers. In addition, graduation conditions and categories of master's schools have no significant impact on the publication of high-level papers. Based on the results of the study, policy suggestions are provided to improve the publication of high-level doctoral candidates in management.
