Abstract
Purpose/Significance The relationship management capability revolving around bilateral relationship management capability is the foundation of enterprise network capability and multi-network embedding to obtain the resources needed for innovation. Therefore, it is necessary to make an in-depth research on the influence mechanism of relationship management capability on innovation performance. Design/Methodology Based on the network structure embedding features, the network location is introduced as the mediating variable, and network density and network size serve as the moderating variables. This paper takes 304 manufacturers in Guangdong province as samples for empirical analysis, and focuses on the influence of relationship management capability on innovation performance. Findings/Conclusions The conclusions show that: firstly, the relationship management capability positively affects the network location, but the negative moderating effect of network density is not significant. Secondly, the relationship management capability has a positive effect on the enterprise innovation performance, and network location plays an intermediary role in the influencing process. Thirdly, the network scale has a positive moderating effect on the relationship between network location and enterprise innovation performance. The study not only enriches the researches of innovation networks, but also provides practical enlightenment for enterprises to improve their network capability and build cooperative innovation networks.
