Abstract
Purpose/Significance The “UESTC-Plan” for new engineering education is proposed by the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China to implement the fundamental task of morality education. The plan clearly points out the need to build a general education and (engineering) leadership training system and make an upgraded version of general education. Design/Methodology This paper first introduces how to develop business general education curriculum meeting the graduation requirements of engineering education certification. Then, this paper analyzes in detail the four ways of constructing the “UESTC-Plan”: top-level design of curriculum system, optimization and revision of curriculum syllabus, phased implementation of teaching, and in-depth excavation of ideological and political elements of the courses. Findings/Conclusions Establishing “engineering + business and enterprise management” business general education curriculum with distinctive engineering characteristics through the various, phased and interdisciplinary exploration and practice aims to improve students’ knowledge, ability and quality.
