The Innovation of Ideological and Political Work in Universities Under the Vision of Ruling Universities by Law

Purpose/Significance Focusing on the new requirements of establishing morality and cultivating people in universities in the new era, this paper is to explore how to enhance the effectiveness of ideological and political work by strengthening the rule of law. Design/Methodology Through the combination of theoretical analysis and practical perspective, it is to clarify the extreme importance of the rule of law to the ideological and political work in universities. Then applying a problem-oriented approach, it is to summarize and analyze the concrete manifestation of its inherent “rule of law maladjustment” and puts forward specific solutions. Conclusions/Findings It is found that ideological and political work and governing school by law are interrelated and inseparable. However, for a long time, in the specific practice of ideological and political work in universities, there are still varying degrees of “emphasizing the rule of man but neglecting the rule of law”, “emphasizing management and neglecting governance”, “emphasizing entities and neglecting procedures,” “requiring requirements and neglecting systems”, etc., which are extremely incompatible with the requirements of governing school by law. Therefore, to do well the ideological and political work in universities in the new era, it is necessary to strengthen the legal thinking, improve the procedures of rule of law, intensify the education of legal system, increase the power of legal system, and improve the effect evaluation of legal system. And it is necessary to promote the reform and innovation of the ideological and political work from legal perspective.
