Evidence-Based Policy: Research Content, Thematic Framework and Future Prospects

Research on evidence-based policies is currently at the forefront of public management methods and theories. In order to present the cutting-edge issues in the research field, Systematic Literature Review is used to summarize the results of evidence-based policy research. The main content of evidence-based policy research is the theoretical research of evidence-based policy, the application mechanism of technology in evidence-based policy, the problem of government decision-making based on evidence-based theory, and the application of evidence-based practice in other social sciences. Among them, the general idea behind the formation of evidence-based policies, namely the process of “data information evidence practice”, is not only a one-way operation, but also contains ways of feedback, transformation, and promotion. In this regard, this paper puts forward a thematic framework of evidence-based policy, and probes into four research contents centering on two major issues. This paper further puts forward future prospects from four perspectives: government evidence-based governance, integrating into local culture, evidence-based technology empowerment and evidence grading and quantification. In summary, the theoretical contribution of this article lies in helping the academic community grasp the current research status of evidence-based policies.
