Abstract
The analysis of how residents’ individual heterogeneity affects their affect of community can nudge communities to build a stable affective community and solve the dilemma of “social fragmentation” and “stranger community”. However, there are few studies on affect of community and its influencing factors. With the help of CGSS2017 data, this paper firstly explores how residents’ social and economic status, community life interest relevance and political status affect their affect of community from three dimensions. In general, the affect of community status of residents is not optimistic. With ordered logit models and a logit model, it is empirically found that when the resident’s socioeconomic ability is weaker, the relevance of community life interests is higher. And if their political status is CPC member, they tend to have higher affect of community. According to the characteristics of communities and residents in China, classifying governance, government guidance, democratic consultation and community autonomy are beneficial attempts to improve the affect of community.
