Abstract
As digital capitalism continues to evolve, the control of capital over sleep has intensified in both extent and depth, effectively giving rise to the ‘end of sleep’. To reveal the control of capital over sleep and the inherent logic of the ‘end of sleep’ in the evolution of digital capitalism, this study aims to resist the encroachment of capital on sleep. Focusing on four dimensions—weekday dissolution, commercialization of sleep time, spatial factory-like conditions, and alienation of ethical consciousness—it analyzes the specific manifestations of sleep alienation. Furthermore, it constructs resistance pathways from four levels: individual resistance, institutional construction, cultural reconstruction, and transcendence of capital. This provides theoretical support and practical approaches for safeguarding individual sleep freedom and defending the people’s right to sleep.
