Research on Industrial Agglomeration and Undertaking Industrial Transfer of Wanjiang Urban Belt

This paper empirically analyzes thirty-seven industry agglomeration of nine cities of Wanjiang urban belt by using the location quotient index. The result shows that the Wanjiang urban belt has the characters of low degree of industry agglomeration, strong resource dependence of industry agglomeration, unreasonable structure of industry agglomeration, and the weak industrial competitiveness of center city. On this basis, considering the cities’ real situation we propose that we should take actions to increase strength of undertaking industry transfer of higher industry agglomeration, undertake industry transfer relying on comparative competition, improve center cities’ industry competition, and conduct reasonable division to avoid malignant competition.
