Abstract
The end of art, as the anxiety and reflection of the art and art process history. During the transition from classical times to modern times, the art, broken from tradition, transformed from divine right and ideological rule of "heteronomy" to self-referential "self-discipline", and finally focused on civil society and individual, which is the most dominant trait of the end of art. But aesthetic modernity contradiction makes increasing division of self-discipline of art itself, eventually in mass culture and alternative liberation of post-modern art in citizens body contacts principle implementation. On the one hand, the individual value of civic society has been expanding in antagonism with state power, in the end making the communication between different classes and popular culture discourse carnival adapted to the ethics of "late capitalism" market, and the state power of cultural confrontation and eventually disappear. Also, the universal cultural needs make art discipline lose the historical foundation of confrontation. Self-discipline of art itself, on the other hand, whether it is from "the runaways aesthetics" or "rebel aesthetics" both have the inner paradoxes which can’t be overcome. The modern elites art is also interconnected with the institutionalization of traction and market economy, and its own division leads to the end of the postmodern art and artistic self-discipline. The end poses a clear space pluralism and freedom in the development of art.
