Abstract: Tourism investment is the core point for the fast and sustainable development of the tourism. There are differences among the different provinces in China, due to which the tourism investment is not the same in different areas. An evaluation system is established at first in this paper, then, statuses of tourism investments in 31 different provinces are analyzed by means of cluster analysis. In addition, due to the analyzed results, the tourism investments in 31 different provinces are classified as four main modes, namely, resources-leading mode, economy-leading mode, round development mode and weak foundation mode. Furthermore, the classification and characteristic of the four modes are analyzed, respectively, based on which, some advices are proposed for different modes of the tourism investment
