Abstract:
As a descendant of Irish immigrants, O’Neill, without a settled home, has a stronger desire for cultural belongingness and identity than his peers. Shaped by diverse thoughts and cultures, the diversity and division of his identity is interwoven with the worries about the real life. Through A Touch of the Poet,O’neill discloses the conflict between two cultures and ethnic groups and their confusion about their cultural identity and persistently pursues the lost identity together with the heroes in the drama under aphasia
