Abstract: In view of the complex ethical issues in the age of digital intelligence, we can construct a pluralism and unificationism applied ethics research method in three steps. Firstly, by using Michael Walzer’s pluralism complex moral theory, we can distinguish different domains superimposed on ethical issues in the interpretation of the empirical “thing”, and then grasp the moral facts in different domains in the interpretation of the empirical “goods”. Secondly, taking the moral interpretation of unificationism as the hub, this paper constructs an ideal type of moral interpretation that can integrate different domains, and obtains an critical method of reflective equilibrium. Thirdly, taking Karl Marx’s moral sociology as the end-result, this paper surpasses Michael Walzer’s pluralism complex moral theory. The pluralism and unificationism applied ethics research method is a knowledge production paradigm of historical materialism.
