Abstract:
The oversale cost of per container position is assumed to be a monotonically increasing convex function with considering the impact of overbooking level. Then, an overbooking model with the expected total cost as the optimization objective is constructed by considering empty container transportation and the uncertainties in capacity of ocean shipping container position. To get the optimal overbooking level, a chaos optimization algorithm is designed for solving the nonlinear optimization model, and the optimality criterion is established. The uniqueness of the optimal solution is proved while the ratio of container arriving is a uniform random variable. Numerical example shows the validity of the proposed model and algorithm
