Abstract: The system of imperial examinations in Southern Song Dynasty was more steady than that of Northern Song Dynasty, thus the compling of Lvfu collections were prosperous. However, the books were mostly lost today. HOU Dian Li Fu is the representative Lvfu florilegium, complied by TANG Zhong-you of Wu School. the text of HOU Dian Li Fu thinks much of contemporaries’ works and make light of ancients’ works. Moreover, the publishing of HOU Dian Li Fu involved some corruption, which shows the obvious motivation of seeking profit. The quality of works in HOU Dian Li Fu are clearly lower than the Lvfu florilegium in Norther Song Dynasty. Thus, the reasons why Lvfu came down in Southern Song Dynasty partly should blame the Lvfu florilegium such as HOU Dian Li Fu.
