Abstract: A lot of words with special cultural implication of Taoism are saved in The Literature of Taoism. This paper uses the method of seeking meaning by culture, explains the meanings of “wu min”, “yin dan”, “dan shui”, “ben xing”, “yuan meng”, “yun gang”, “zhuo zhi” and elaborates their emergence and existence of cultural backgrounds. Meanwhile, the paper argues that in the process of interpretation of words, it must be combined with the relevant cultural background, in order to make language and culture explain and prove each other so as to accurately seek for meaning
