Abstract: Building a new socialist countryside is an important historical mission of contemporary China. The cultural construction, which is one aspect of new countryside construction, plays a key role in promoting the development of countryside. If there is no sufficient supply of public culture services, no improvement of farmer's cultural quality and overall mental outlook of countryside, there will no real sense of the new countryside construction. Based on the background of the construction of new countryside and in response to the equalization of basic public services, this article starts with discussing the situation of the public culture services supply in rural area, and then to find the problems of public services provision mode which is primarily led by government. At last, through analyzing the main reasons that led to the provision dilemma and putting forward some provision paths for making choice, the article aims to make some useful exploration to improve the quality of public culture services in rural areas.
