Modern Education between the Cracks or‘Owning’’and“Being” ——Fromm’S Thinking on Education

  • 摘要: 在佛洛姆眼里,现代社会的特征集中表现为“拥有或存在”,后者是幸福的根源。在 以“拥有”为取向的社会里。人们只为了占有学问、为了获得社会资源和社会地位而学习。而“存在” 的社会则激发人们的人性化发展,支持每个人追求自我的过程。现代教育在鼓励人们追求自我发 展时,也需帮助人们建立健康的人与事物的关系。

     

    Abstract: In Erich Fromm’s eyes.the characteristics of modem society is the performance of“owning’’and“be· ing”,while the latter is the sotlrce of happiness.In all owning—oriented society,people study just for the sake of posses· sion of learning。in order to access to social resources and social status and learning.The‘‘Being”in the community stimu— lates the people’s human development and the pursuit of self-support each process.Modem education encourages people to pursue self-development and it is necessary to help people to develop a healthy relationship between people and things.
