Abstract: On the subjective function of the cognitive contextual element, there are three different understandings. The first understanding regards the function of cognitive contextual elements as automatic and unconscious; while the second viewpoint insists on a conscious and purposeful operation of the cognitive agent. On synthesizing the two views above, we think that the working way of cognitive contextual elements is both automatic and conscious.
