Nalan Rongruo and the Development of Qing Ci-poetry

The unique developing environment of Qing Ci-poetry put it on the verge of evolution, which is represented by its return to truthfulness from gracefulness and restraint, a perfect combination of expressing self emotion with elegant Ci, aesthetic pursuit of making Ci so pathetic as to move both wise and the dull, inherent absorption and fusion of Ci and poetry while being kept pace with each other in status, the complexity and inclusiveness of Ci schools, etc. During this process, Nalan Rongruo was shouldered with the landmark mission of explaining with his works the evolving process and traits of Qing Ci-poetry, and eventually becoming the spokesperson of the Ci-poetry of this time.
