Analysis on the Gap Between Chinese Technological Universities and the World First-Class Universities Based on the QS and ARWU Ranking System

Through the analysis of the current development of Chinese technological universities, we focus on the universities ranked in QS and ARWU respectively by clustering algorithm based on the cluster analysis and divide their class, further find out the gap between Chinese technological universities and the world first-class universities from aspects namely academic evaluation, employer evaluation, citations per faculty, student-to-faculty ratio, international student ratio, PUB (papers indexed in major citation indices), N&S (Nature and Science), HiCi (highly cited researchers) and PCP (per capita academic performance), fianlly point out the construction direction of Chinese technological universities.
