Research on the Personal Information Protection in Internet Finance—Interpretation of the UN General Data Protection Regulation

In recent years, Internet finance has been developing rapidly in China, but the process of personal information protection is very slow. So far, our country has not established a perfect system of personal information protection, which makes us enjoy the convenience of Internet finance and also bear a large risk of personal information security. In the Internet age, the citizen’s personal information security urgently needs legal and institutional security, and the General Data Protection Regulation of the EU, as a landmark law in the field of personal information legislation, has many references in the system design and frame construction of personal information protection. This paper analyzes the defects in the protection of personal information in our country, and puts forward some suggestions on establishing the protection mechanism of personal information in the field of Internet finance in the light of the innovative content of the General Data Protection Regulation, in order to protect the legitimate rights and interests of the citizens and promote the healthy and orderly development of the Internet financial industry.
